Kaua’i is the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands and is often called the Garden Island due to its stunning beauty and romantic feel and features. The county seat of Kauai is Lihue and Kauai has been featured in more than seventy Hollywood features and television shows. ‘Aina means the land in Hawaiian. The members of Lucky Dog Kauai bow down in reverence to our island home—as kama’aina—and recognize that none of our abundance would be possible without the loving home of this magnificent island. Kauai is the real star of all Lucky Dog Kauai productions.
Jason Blake is the founder of Lucky Dog Productions, Inc., dba Lucky Dog Kauai. He has a long entertainment and event producing background. Jason worked for Busch Gardens, was the Director of Catering for Wolfgang Puck in Chicago, has acted and performed professionally for decades and is the creator of the Kauai Sings fundraiser held thrice-annually on Kauai. Jason is a published author and is also listed as acting talent with The ADR Agency in Honolulu.
As a professional with more than thirty years’ experience in music, entertainment, writing, and education, Philip Steinbacher has a proven record leading and working with children and adults. He began his fifteen-year career with the Walt Disney Company in Orlando as an entertainer, working his way to the position of Staging Assistant, where he teamed with top Disney choreographers and show directors in auditioning and teaching performers and mounting shows, parades, and conventions. Additionally he provided production assistance for a number of live and filmed televised Disney programs and helped coordinate live events for Disney in Orlando and locations throughout the U.S., Canada, and the Bahamas. Philip has degrees in music and education, and works as a choral conductor, music arranger, and occasional media consultant. Philip is a published author of children’s books.
Angela Tillson has been the longest consistent force in the film industry on Kauai and in the state for the more than 20 years. She has worked as a Production Coordinator, Casting Director and Locations Manager for hundreds of productions, including the Hollywood blockbusters “Just Go With It”, “Jurassic Park,” and “The Descendants.” Angela also produces events, including sports events like the PGA Grand Slam & the Quarterback Challenge.Angela and her companies, A Whale of a Time Productions & Casting Kauai, have been synonymous with Kauai meets Hollywood for years.
Kate Wilson began her career in film production while attending New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Upon graduating in 2004 with a BFA from the Film and Television department, Kate began freelancing in the busy world of New York commercial and music video production. She quickly moved up the ranks as a production coordinator, and then production manager and producer. Commercial experience includes work for Mercedes, FX Networks, MTV, Xbox, Beyonce, and the Martin Scorsese directed short film for Freixenet. In 2010 it was time for a change, and Kate moved to beautiful Kauai. Here she pursues her creative goals – with the occasional commute to NYC.
