About Lucky Dog Kauai Productions, Inc.

Hollywood loves Kauai and that is the real genesis for Lucky Dog Productions, Inc. Nearly 100 Hollywood films have shot on Kauai and dozens of smaller film, print and commercial projects are filmed on Kauai each year.

Lucky Dog Kauai was the brainchild of founder Jason Blake. Jason found that although there were many talented individuals on Kauai in the areas of film, TV, and event production, there was no organizing force and the existing talent was under-marketed. Previously, when productions were filmed on Kauai, most of the staff and talent was actually flown from Oahu, Los Angeles, Asia or beyond. This left Kauai talent under-employed and created inflated budgets for Kauai-based film projects. By inventorying and organizing this talent, Lucky Dog Kauai is committed to keeping more of the money for production that comes to Kauai on Kauai and helping producers of film, TV and events create products, events and pieces that exceed their expectations while coming in under budget. Imagine!

With the goal of adding positively to the collective consciousness, Lucky Dog Kauai will also create a forum for commercial writers to produce, refine and market their pieces to the people who can finance and broadcast them. The current goals include TV commercials, new media (including web content), and television pilots, eventually expanding into feature-length film.

Lucky Dog Kauai also intends to continue to give back to the community of Kauai. Currently, collaborators from Lucky Dog Kauai produce the thrice-annual Kauai Sings fundraisers that have raised over $100,000 for Kauai-based nonprofit organizations.
